Active Transportation Summit

This summit is designed for planners, developers, community leaders and residents and will focus on enhancing the infrastructure to promote active transportation. Active Transportation requires planning and designing physically active communities that include biking and walking for daily transportation in addition to recreation. The summit includes luncheon, breakout sessions, plenary, and reception.

Experts will present on active transportation (AT) issues that relate to community assessment, link between health and AT, the current state of AT in Guilford County, examples of communities that use AT, and approaches to addressing planning and barriers. Speakers include: TOM NORMAN, MERLE GREEN, WAYNE WESTON, GREG JACKSON, ALAN OLIVER, HANNAH COCKBURN, VIVIAN COLEMAN, MARK SHULTZ, NEIL BELINKY, and other experts in AT.
